World War 2

The Second World War had a profound effect on this rural parish, not just for the men, but also for the women who took an active role both in the armed services and at home. Although it took many to fight in other parts of the world, the war also came to Granby and Sutton. Here are the reminiscences of Norman Wilkinson, just 15 years old at the outbreak of hostilities and memories of a bygone Granby.

Living Advent Calendars

In 2018 and 2019, Julie and David Powell encouraged 24 householders to create and illuminate a window which was opened during Advent. Carol singing on Sutton and Granby village greens took place on the final evening.
