Under law, every Parish Council has to have a set of 'rules' which are officially called 'Standing Orders'.
These rules partly reflect the size and requirements of the Parish concerned but must also ensure the application of certain of the Laws of England, for example, those relating to accounting, discrimination, data protection and elections.
Having reviewed the previous Standing Orders, it was deemed that they fell short of a large number of requirements and frameworks given the many years that had passed since their original adoption well over two decades ago. Using a template produced by the National Association of Local Councils ("NALC") a new set of Standing Orders were produced and these were formally adopted by the Parish Council at its Meeting of 12th October 2024.
A copy of the Standing Orders (Rev 10/2024) can now be found HERE.
